THE LIBRARY

The Commodore Barry Library, located on the second floor, is a reference library housing over 1,000 books, maps and periodicals related to Irish history and culture.

Each of these items are arranged in three sections: HISTORICAL, GENERAL and FICTION

The Historical section is arranged as follows:

• General History
• Celtic History
• Early Christian
• Middle Ages, 1798 Rebellion and its aftermath
• The Great Hunger
• The Land League
• the Rebellions of 1916 and 1918
• Modern Ireland

The General section contains:

• local history
• Irish character studies
• Irish Sword magazines
• Irish military studies

The Fiction section contains volumes arranged alphabetically.
