
THE LIBRARY
The Commodore Barry Library, located on the second floor, is a reference library housing over 1,000 books, maps and periodicals related to Irish history and culture.
Each of these items are arranged in three sections: HISTORICAL, GENERAL and FICTION
The Historical section is arranged as follows:
- General History
- Celtic History
- Early Christian
- Middle Ages, 1798 Rebellion and its aftermath
- The Great Hunger
- The Land League
- the Rebellions of 1916 and 1918
- Modern Ireland
The General section contains:
- local history
- Irish character studies
- Irish Sword magazines
- Irish military studies
The Fiction section contains volumes arranged alphabetically.
